img-jun15-3Everybody is wondering about the reason behind the new-found confidence of Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi. He is alone. His party is new and all his political colleagues are novices in understanding the nuances of politics and governance. Kejriwal roars against the Centre on one pretext or the other every day. It is very clear, given the recent developments, that Kejriwal cannot move without support from some force within the central government. Even in the Delhi Assembly elections, the top BJP and Congress leadership supported him wholeheartedly. Every day he is on a war path with the Lt. Governor of Delhi, Najeeb Jung. The manner in which the confrontation is building, it appears that Kejriwal has a tacit understanding with the Home Ministry. It is an open secret in the media as well as in the Delhi Secretariat that Home Minister Rajnath Singh has a soft corner for the Delhi Chief Minister. Even in the BJP, one of the prominent sections which is not cordial with the present dispensation is supporting Kejriwal. Insiders report that Kejriwal is also amused by the tacit support from within the BJP. Home Minister Rajnath Singh has many reasons to stir up Delhi politics and observe the circus of the Aam Aadmi Party. Indications are clear as to what Kejriwal and Rajnath Singh desire. g
